Crème Légère

Have you ever heard of crème légère? It's quite used in Italy and there we often confuse it with chantilly cream. Crème légère, as the name hints, is a lighter cream. Lighter I'd say in texture, so more delicate if you prefer, definitely not in terms of ingredients. It's the mix of the pastry cream with whipped cream.
Ingredients for 500g of cream
For the whipped cream
250ml of heavy whipping cream
1tbsp of granulated sugar
For the cream
500ml of milk
60g of sugar
30g of corn starch
2 eggs
vanilla extract
(optional) the grated zest of a lemon
Preparation
Let's start by preparing the whipped cream
With an electric whisk, whip the cold cream with the sugar until you get medium peaks - use a medium speed otherwise you'll risk turning the cream into "butter"
place in the fridge until needed

Prepare the cream
pour it into a bowl and let it cool covered with film
Last steps
In a bowl pour the pastry cream
with a whisk incorporate, with slow movements from bottom to top the whipped cream
keep stirring until you'll have a smooth cream
